Concept explainers
Interpretation: The following problem can be solved by the concept of aerobic respiration.
Concept introduction: Aerobic respiration is a collection of different cycles and reactions involved in the energy production in the presence of molecular oxygen. It involves the process of glycolysis, production of Acetyl CoA, Citric acid cycle or Krebs cycle and finally the electron transport system. The ATP generated by the aerobic respiration is made by the oxidative phosphorylation process. It works by energy liberated in utilization of pyruvate which is used to produce a chemiosmotic gradient by passing the protons through the membrane. This potential then drives the ATP synthase enzyme to generate ATP from the ADP molecules.
