To determine

To compare:The strongest and the weakest material.

Expert Solution & Answer
Check Mark

Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

The resistance of a material from getting damaged under great pressure is called tensile strength.

The more the tensile strength of a material, more is its resistance from breaking or getting damaged under high pressure. In other words, greater the tensile strength, stronger the material. From the graph given in the question, material 1 has greatest tensile strength hence it is strongest and material 3 has the least tensile strength, hence it is the weakest among the four.

Tensile strength of material 1 is approximately 8000 MPa and that of material 3 is approximately 2500 MPa. Hence difference in their tensile strength is 8000-2500=5500 MPa

Conclusion:

Material 1 is the strongest while material 3 is the weakest and the difference between their tensile strength is approximately 5500 MPa.
