Two medical uses of alloy and their characteristics are as follows:

1. Use − A mercury-silver alloy is used to fill the cavity.

Characteristics −. a. The alloy can be beaten into sheets(malleability)

b. The alloy has strength.

2. Use −Pins and screws are made from surgical steel (an alloy made of iron, chromium, carbon and nickel)
3. Characteristics − a. Do not have a chemical reaction with elements and compounds in the body.

b. Are resistant to tissue rejection.
