Concept explainers
(a) Interpretation:
The following figure shows an R loop which is prepared for electron microscopy by the process of annealing a purified eukaryotic mRNA with DNA from a genomic clone that contains the full-length gene corresponding to mRNA.
The number of exons and introns in the gene should be calculated.
Concept introduction:
Exon is referred to the DNA sequence present in a gene as well as the sequence in RNA transcripts. Thus, it is the part of gene that encoded the part of final mature RNA produced after removal of introns (non-coded sections of by RNA transcript) the RNA splicing process. In this process, after removal of introns, exons are covalently joined to each other generating messenger RNA. The whole set of exons form the exome.
(b) Interpretation:
The position of
Concept Introduction:
The function of the poly (A) tail on a eukaryotic message helps to ticket the message. One or more residues from poly(A) tail is removed every time the message is used. This results in the degradation of messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) after the tail is shortened below a critical length.
