Question
Chapter 24.2, Problem 2LO
Summary Introduction
To determine: The reason that most crosses between two species do not result in a new polyploidy species.
Introduction: Polyploidy occurs when the cells undergo karyokinesis (a division of the nucleus) but fail to undergo cytokinesis (a division of the cytoplasm). This results in an increase in the haploid sets of chromosomes in the cells.
