Introduction:

Endocytosis is the reverse of exocytosis. Endocytosis is the absorption of extracellular material within a cell. In endocytosis, the cell exterior materials are surrounded by a portion of the plasma membrane which pockets inside and compress off as an endocytic vesicle.
