The process of radioactive decay is how an unstable atomic nucleus loses energy through radiation. A substance that has unstable nuclei is regarded as radioactive.

The chemical reaction occurs normally outside the nucleus whereas nuclear reaction happens only inside the nucleus. Hence, in chemical reaction atoms becomes more stable.
Explanation of Solution
A nuclear reaction is very different from a chemical reaction. In chemical reactions, atoms become more stable by participating in a transfer of electrons or by sharing electrons with other atoms. In nuclear reactions, it is the nucleus of the atom that gains stability by changing some kind.
