Chapter 25.6, Problem 24BYGO
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Lipids are hydrophobic in nature, so digestion and absorption of lipid is a more complicated process when compared to protein and carbohydrate digestion. Lingual lipase in the mouth is secreted by intrinsic salivary glands that digest small quantity of fat; this enzyme is more active in the stomach because of acidic pH. Emulsification droplets, micelles, and chylomicron are involved in lipid digestion.
