Introduction:
Water treatment is the process of treating the water to improve its quality and make it suitable for use. Water contamination is the presence of any substance, whether it is natural or artificial, in water which makes it unsuitable for use. Not all contaminants pollute the water.
Chemical treatment is the use of chlorination for treating wastewater and drinking water. In this process, chemicals such as oxidizing agents, iodine, and chlorine are used. Addition of these compounds helps in reducing the growth of microbes and kills them. It is a form of disinfection.
