Respiratory acidosis is the formation of acidic fluid due to slow respiratory rate Metabolic acidosis is the accumulation of the fixed acids and the metabolic acids in the body Respiratory alkalosis is caused due to an increase in the rate of respiration; this increases the carbonic acid formation that breaks down to form bicarbonate ions Metabolic alkalosis is formed by the excessive secretion of HCl that leads to increase of the bicarbonate ion in the blood as the hydrogen ion is utilized by the stomach to form HCl.
