Explanation of Solution

The mathematical quantities which are used to give detailed description of motion of objects is divided two types namely scalar and vector. The basic difference between the two is:

Scalar quantity possesses only magnitude. It does not depend upon the direction. For example, speed, distance, time are scalar quantities.
The vector quantities are those quantities which possesses both magnitude and direction. For example velocity, displacement, acceleration, momentum are vector quantities.

A person's speed can stay the same as he or she rounds a corner and changes direction. Given this information, is speed a scalar or a vector quantity? Explain.
Is there any vector that is perpendicular to itself? Provide an example if there is, and if there isn't, provide a counterexample or proof.
Given two vectors, Q = 20 m, θ = 40° and R =15 m, θ = 50°, determine their sum. Then, calculate the magnitude and the angle of the resultant vector using the component method.   Note: Make an illustration too with a complete solution. Do it digitally-not handwritten. Thank you
