Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Hydrolysis is a reaction in which the water molecules are added to the given reactants. The water ( ${\text{H}}_{\text{2}}\text{O}$ ) molecules break down to form ${\text{H}}^{\text{+}}$ i.e. Hydrogen cation and ${\text{OH}}^{-}$ i.e. hydroxyl group. It also helps in splitting the reactant molecule into two parts from which one part is attached to the ${\text{H}}^{\text{+}}$ i.e. Hydrogen cation and other part binds with the $O{H}^{-}$ i.e. hydroxyl group.
