Summary Introduction

To review:

The groups of cnidarians having only polyp stage in their life cycle.

Introduction:

Cnidarians or coelenterates exhibit dimorphism, i.e., they have two distinct life forms in their life cycle. One form is known as polyp form, which is cylindrical shaped and remain attached to the substratum, while the other one is known as medusa form, which is umbrella-shaped and free-swimming. Medusae is the sexual stage, in most cases developed asexually from the polyp stage, which develops sexually from medusae that forms sperms and eggs.
