Boot strapping:

A boot strapping is a startup process that is performed by the computer in order to help the operating system to get started each time when it is turned on. Basically, what it does is, whenever the system is turned on, it installs a sequence of commands that initialize or start the system and loads the operating system. As the name implies, this process does not require any user output to perform the operations.

The conversion or transformation of operating system from mass storage to main memory is known as booting process and this is the first process which runs when a computer system is turned on.

Main memory contains the address of operating system where it is arranged accordingly and when system gets started, it automatically indicates the system to transform the operating system from mass storage to main memory and the process of loading these instructions and transformation phenomenon of operating system is known as booting process...
