Question
Chapter 33, Problem 8WIO
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The reason, why diuretic drugs might lower blood pressure and why some patients have low levels of salts in their blood while taking a diuretic.
Concept introduction:
Hormones are responsible for regulating the functions of kidney including urine formation, and maintenance of blood pressure. The antidiuretic hormone, which is responsible for reabsorption of water at the distal convoluted tubule and collecting duct, and the aldosterone, which is responsible for stimulation of sodium channels in the distal convoluted tubule and collecting duct regulates the blood pressure.
