Introduction:

Plants consist of two systems: root system and shoot system. The shoot system is present above the ground and root system below the ground. The root system anchors the plant in the soil and also absorbs the water along with minerals from the soil. The root system is of two types. The first is the tap root system, which arises from the radicle, and has a main root bearing small lateral roots. The second is the adventitious root system, which arises from any other plant parts, such as stems and leaves rather than the radicle.
