Concept introduction:

Reproduction is the process that involves the production of new individual or offspring from the parents. Two modes of reproduction are available in the biological systems, sexual reproduction and asexual reproduction.Sexual reproduction involves the production of the offspring by the fusion of male and female sex cells.

Asexual reproduction involves only one parent for the production of offspring.Fertilization is the process of fusion of sex cells or gametes released by the male and females of the same species. Fertilization is of two types; internal and external fertilization. Internal fertilization involves the process of fusion of the gametes inside the body of the female organism, while the external fertilization involves the fusion of the gametes outside the organism’s body
