Introduction:

Endocrine glands are the glands, which are involved in production of different hormones. The hormones are the chemical messengers that carry information from one part of body to another.

Explanation of Solution

Endocrine glands are those specialized glands which secretes hormones. Hormones are the chemical messenger molecules which act on a specific location and carry out a certain response in the body. Endocrine system functions are written below:

Serves as messenger	Endocrine system produces hormones, which are nothing but chemicals and they influence metabolic activities.
Produce messengers	The specialized cells of the endocrine glands produce hormones, which are released in to the blood.
Receives messages	There are specialized receptors on the recipient cells that is activated by the hormones only.
