To analyze: The reason for the sensitivity of plants to blue and red light.
Introduction:
Light is made up of energy pockets called photons. They travel in different wavelengths. Based on the wavelengths the color varies in a spectrum of light. When the light ray hits an object, the photons undergo three different changes depending upon the properties of that object. Some photons will be reflected, some will be allowed to pass through the object and the remaining will be absorbed by the object. The color of the reflected and transmitted wavelength will be perceived by our human eyes. The plant pigments reflect as well as transmit the wavelength of green color light. So, the leaves are appearing green to our eyes. Other colors like violet, blue and red are absorbed by pigment.

- OPE Examining a flower50 1. Flowers are borne on stalks or pedicels in the axils of modified leaves called bracts. As mentioned previously, flowers may occur singly or in a cluster. Examine at least one of the flowering shoots provided and determine the floral arrangement. (Write the answer in #7.) 2. Using a pair of forceps, remove the outer green sepals of a single flower. Record the number. 3. Remove and record the number of petals. (If more than 12, put numerous.) 4. Remove and record the number of stamens. 5. The structure remaining is the pistil. 6. Use a sharp scalpel to cut a horizontal slice from the ovary. Place this on a slide and observe the cut surface with the stereomicroscope. Observe the ovules. Record the number of compartments or carpels in the ovary. 7. Take another of the same flower. Hold it upside down between the first finger and thumb. Carefully cut it with a scalpel into two halves along the plane of symmetry. Try to cut in a plane that creates mirror images of…arrow_forward10°C water 25 °C water 40 °C water Lumes number of bubbles released number of bubbles released number of bubbles released 0 3 7 3 1000 11 23 11 2000 17 35 17 3000 19 39 19 Why are bubbles counted in this experiment, and what do they represent? make a line graph showing the difference in the number of oxygen gas bubbles released by the plant under different light intensities and water temperatures.
