Introduction:

Fishes can be divided into two categories based on their ability to increase the swimming muscle temperature by countercurrent-heat exchange mechanism. “Cold” fishes have large aorta and “hot” fishes have smaller aorta. The blood flowing through the larger aorta of cold fish does not get heat from its surroundings.
