Chapter 4, Problem 4TC
Summary Introduction

To explain:

The effects of severe burn on the overall homeostasis of the body with a few examples.

Introduction:

The serious burning of the skin causes the destruction of skin cells, glands, hair follicles, collagen fibers and blood vessels. This disturbs the homeostasis of the body. The skin cells lose water and become dehydrated. They become prone to infection caused by microorganisms due to the direct exposure of the skin layer . The other effects include the loss of heat from blood vessels and changes in the pH of blood due to injury and burns. The skin loses flexibility, elasticity and the division of the skin cells is hindered.
