Golgi apparatus is also called the Golgi body. It is a cell organelle that consists of several stacks of flat and disc-shaped sacs known as cisternae. Cisternae have membranes and cavity similar like endoplasmic reticulum but are not present as a continuous network. Golgi body is closely connected to the endoplasmic reticulum.
