Introduction: SEM stands for Scanning Electron Microscopy. Microscope refers to a tool which is used to visualize the structure and inner workings of a cell through magnification. Microscope takes an image which is referred to as a micrograph. A compound microscope refers to a microscope having more than one lens and it was first constructed by Zacharias Jansen in 1595.
