Chapter 4.2, Problem 8SAQ
Summary Introduction
The process of biosynthesis of proteins which is carried out by the ribosomes in the cytoplasm or endoplasmic reticulum of a cell is referred to as translation. This process is followed by the process of transcription where the DNA is transcribed into mRNA (messenger RNA). In the translation step, the genetic code carried out in the mRNA is decoded. This decoding is carried out to produce specific amino acid sequences in a polypeptide chain.
