Porcupines are the rodents and belongs to the family Erethizontidae and Hystricidae, and class mammalia. They have a coat of sharp spines, or quills on the body. These spines protect the porcupines from predators. Porcupines are indigenous to North America and South America. They are usually found in the wooded areas, and can climb trees. Porcupines may be brown, gray, and white in color.
