Question
Chapter 47.3, Problem 1LO
Summary Introduction
To explain: That why lungs work better than gills in air.
Introduction: Gas exchange is the physical process by which gases move passively across a surface by diffusion. In most larger organisms, which have a small surface area- to volume ratios, specialized structure with convoluted surface such as pulmonary alveoli and gills gives large area required for the effective exchange of gas.
