Question
Chapter 5, Problem 38E
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
The reason behind the hexagonal shape of snowflakes is to be explained.
Concept Introduction:
A polar bond is formed between elements with different electronegativities. Due to uneven electron distribution, there is a charge separation that results in a dipole moment.
In polar molecules like water, the positive end of the molecule attracts the negative end of its neighbouring molecule. This force of attraction keeps water molecules together.
