As ABCD is a parallelogram, AB=CD (as opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal). Also, it given that BF=DE . As ABCD is a parallelogram, ABCD (as opposite sides of parallelogram are parallel). Now take BD as a transversal. Hence, FBA=EDC (if a transversal intersects two parallel lines then each pair of alternate interior angles are equal). So, ΔDECΔBFA according to SAS congruence rule. So, AF=EC (By CPCT). Next, we will prove ΔDEAΔBFC . Consider ΔDEA,ΔBFC . As ABCD is a parallelogram, AD=BC (as opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal). Also, it given that DE=BF . As ABCD is a parallelogram, ADBC (as opposite sides of parallelogram are parallel). Take BD as a transversal. Hence, EDA=FBC (if a transversal intersects two parallel lines then each pair of alternate interior angles are equal). So, ΔDEAΔBFC according to SAS congruence rule. Therefore, AD=BC (By CPCT).A quadrilateral in which opposite sides are equal is a parallelogram. Therefore, AFCE is a parallelogram (as DC=AB,AD=BC ).
