Burns are considered a huge threat to the body because of their effects on the skin. It istissue-damage that occurs due to heat, electricity, radiation and certain chemicals. The immediate problem in the body is the severe loss of fluids, which can be estimated by computing the percentage of the body surface burned. The anterior head and face represent only a small percentage of the body surface.
