The growth which is responsible for the increase in diameter of bone.
Introduction:
Bone is formed through a process called ossification or osteogenesis.
There are two methods of ossification;
- Intramembranous ossification
- Endochondral ossification
Cartilage can grow by both interstitial and appositional growth. Appositional growth responsible for widening of bone. Interstitial growth is responsible for bone elongation.
