Introduction:
Bones are the primary skeletal structures in vertebrates. Bones provide support and shape to the body. The bones also help in locomotion and maintaining the electrolyte balance of the body. Some bones contain bone marrow which is responsible for the formation of all the blood cell lineages due to totipotent nature of the stem cells contained in the bone marrow.
The inner structures of bone are majorly divided into two parts:
- The spongy bone
- The compact bone
