Concept introduction:
On crystallization from water, some chemical compounds produce solids with associated water molecules as part of their crystal structure. These water molecules are called as water of crystallization or water of hydration. Moreover, the chemical compounds obtained with water of crystallization is referred as hydrate or hydrated species. When the hydrated compound is heated, its water of crystallization is removed to result the parent compound. This compound is called as anhydrous compound.
