Where do they meet? Kelly started at noon (t = 0) riding a bike from Niwot to Berthoud, a distance of 20 km, with velocity v(t) = 15/(t + 1)2 (decreasing because of fatigue). Sandy started at noon (t = 0) riding a bike in the opposite direction from Berthoud to Niwot with velocity u(t) = 20/(t + 1)2 (also decreasing because of fatigue). Assume distance is measured in kilometers and time is measured in hours.
- a. Make a graph of Kelly’s distance from Niwot as a function of time.
- b. Make a graph of Sandy’s distance from Berthoud as a function of time.
- c. When do they meet? How far has each person traveled when they meet?
- d. More generally, if the riders’ speeds are v(t) = A/(t + 1)2 and u(t) = B/(t + 1)2 and the distance between the towns is D, what conditions on A, B, and D must be met to ensure that the riders will pass each other?
- e. Looking ahead: With the velocity functions given in part (d), make a conjecture about the maximum distance each person can ride (given unlimited time).

The arrangement of the I-th year is portrayed by four boundaries ui,vi,li and ri, and he is approached to track down any mineral asset ci to such an extent that the accompanying two conditions hold: mineral asset ci seems an odd number of times between city ui and city vi; and li≤ci≤ri. As the closest companion of Homer, he asks you for help. For each arrangement, track down any such mineral asset ci, or let him know that there doesn't exist one. Input The main line contains two integers n (1≤n≤3⋅105) and q (1≤q≤3⋅105), demonstrating the number of urban areas and the number of plans. The subsequent line contains n integers a1,a2,… ,an (1≤ai≤n). Then, at that point, the I-th line of the accompanying (n−1) lines contains two integers xi and yi (1≤xi,yi≤n) with xi≠yi, demonstrating that there is a bidirectional street between city xi…arrow_forwardThis is to be done in MATLAB. Thanks! MISSION: Build a script (use the Live Script in MATLAB) that produces the derivative of the function f(x)=exp(−x)cos(x) between x=−5 and x=5 by applying both, the Forward Difference and Centered Difference approximations. Compare the numerically-determined derivatives with the actual derivative (product rule) by plotting all three curves on the same graph. Demonstrate graphically that the accuracy of the numerical derivative increases as the interval Δx decreases. It would be most effective to plot all three curves on the same graph for a given value of Δx. End up with a separate graph, demonstrating the comparison of all three curves, for each value of Δx chosen. Also, describe the "numerical approach," i.e. the method used to approximate the derivative. Thus, a clear description of the numerical approach at the beginning of the Live Script, and a detailed demonstration of how accuracy increases by systematically lowering Δx is expected as part of…arrow_forwardThe table that follows shows the enrollment at two campuses of a university and the number of computer stations for each campus. The number of computer stations was apportioned according to the Hamilton method. A new computer station is to be set up at one of the campuses. Round your answer to four decimal places. Campus Enrollment Apportionment of 35 Computer Stations A 1,097 18 B 1,083 17 relative unfairness of apportionment is 0.1034 if Campus A receives the computer station relative unfairness of apportionment is 0.1034 if Campus B receives the computer station Campus A should receive the new computer station. relative unfairness of apportionment is 0.1034 if Campus A receives the computer station relative unfairness of apportionment is 0.0129 if Campus B receives the computer…arrow_forward

Computer science. way from block u to impede v is an arrangement u=x0→x1→x2→⋯→xk=v, where there is a street from block xi−1 to obstruct xi for each 1≤i≤k. The length of a way is the amount of lengths over all streets in the way. Two ways x0→x1→⋯→xk and y0→y1→⋯→yl are unique, if k≠l or xi≠yi for some 0≤i≤min{k,l}. Subsequent to moving to another city, Homer just recollects the two unique numbers L and R yet fails to remember the numbers n and m of squares and streets, separately, and how squares are associated by streets. Be that as it may, he accepts the number of squares ought to be no bigger than 32 (on the grounds that the city was little). As the dearest companion of Homer, if it's not too much trouble, let him know whether it is feasible to view as a (L,R)- constant city or not. - Determine whether ∀x(P (x) ↔ Q(x)) and ∀x P (x) ↔∀xQ(x) are logically equivalent. Justify your answerarrow_forwardA farmer in Georgia has a 100-acre farm on which to plant watermelons and cantaloupes. Every acre planted with watermelons requires 50 gallons of water per day and must be prepared for planting with 20 pounds of fertilizer. Every acre planted with cantaloupes requires 75 gallons of water per day and must be prepared for planting with 15 pounds of fertilizer. The farmer estimates that it will take 2 hours of labor to harvest each acre planted with watermelons and 2.5 hours to harvest each acre planted with cantaloupes. He believes that watermelons will sell for about $3 each, and cantaloupes will sell for about $1 each. Every acre planted with watermelons is expected to yield 90 salable units. Every acre planted with cantaloupes is expected to yield 300 salable units. The farmer can pump about 6,000 gallons of water per day for irrigation purposes from a shallow well. He can buy as much fertilizer as he needs at a cost of $10 per 50-pound bag. Finally, the farmer can hire laborers to…arrow_forwardHow does the Covid economic event affect equilibrium price and quantity? Step 1. Draw a demand and supply model before the economic change took place. To establish the model requires four standard pieces of information: The law of demand, which tells us the slope of the demand curve; the law of supply, which gives us the slope of the supply curve; the shift variables for demand; and the shift variables for supply. From this model, find the initial equilibrium values for price and quantity. Step 2. Decide whether the economic change being analyzed affects demand or supply. In other words, does the event refer to something in the list of demand factors or supply factors? Step 3. Decide whether the effect on demand or supply causes the curve to shift to the right or to the left, and sketch the new demand or supply curve on the diagram. In other words, does the event increase or decrease the amount consumers want to buy or producers want to sell? Step 4. Identify the new equilibrium and…arrow_forward
