Chapter 6.2, Problem 6.3CP
Program Plan Intro

Function:

One of the building blocks of C++ program is functions; it contains a group of statements which are used to perform a specific task and the executable segments for a program.

  • The function “main()” is the most important function in a program, because the “main()” function is the starting point of the program.
  • The main advantage of using a function is that it reuses and reduces the code size of the program, because a function can be called for a multiple numbers of times.

C++  13.9.2 Pass by reference Define a function ScaleGrade() that takes two parameters: points: an integer, passed by value, for the student's score. grade: a char, passed by reference, for the student's letter grade. ScaleGrade() changes grade to A if the points are greater than or equal to 88 and less than or equal to 100, and grade is not A. Otherwise, grade is not changed. The function returns true if grade has changed, and returns false otherwise.   Ex: If the input is 88 B, then the output is: Grade is A after curving. Using the following code  #include <iostream>using namespace std; // insert code here int main() {   int studentPoints;    char studentGrade;   bool isChanged;    cin >> studentPoints;   cin >> studentGrade;    isChanged = ScaleGrade(studentPoints, studentGrade);    if (isChanged) {      cout << "Grade is " << studentGrade << " after curving." << endl;   }   else {      cout << "Grade " << studentGrade…
6...Consider the definition of the function main. int main() { double rate, hours, amount; . . . } Each of the functions described must have the appropriate parameters to access these variables. Write the following definitions: a. Write the definition of the function getHoursRate that prompts the user to input the hours worked and rate per hour to initialize the variables hours and rate of the function main. b. Write the definition of the value-returning function payCheck that calculates and returns the amount to be paid to an employee based on the hours worked and rate per hour. The hours worked and rate per hour are stored in the variables hours and rate, respectively, of the function main. The formula for calculating the amount to be paid is as follows: For the first 40 hours, the rate is the given rate; for hours over 40, the rate is 1.5 times the given rate. c. Write the definition of the function printCheck that prints the hours worked, rate per hour, and the salary. d. Write the…
Q#2 Write a recursive function zeroCount ( int a[ ],  int s, int e) that receives an array of integers a [], a start index s, and an end index e. The function should return the number of zeros in that array between s and e. int zeroCount ( int a[ ],  int s, int e);  Trace your function given the following array and function call. Draw your steps. int a[ ] = {1, 0, 0, 5}; int zeros = zeroCount(a, 0, 3); language c++
