Interpretation:
The principle hormones that stimulate growth of bones are to be determined.
Concept introduction:
The growth and formation of bone is known as osteogenesis or ossification. The classification can be of two types;
- Intramembranous ossification.
- Endochondral ossification.
Both these processes involve the transformation of the bone forming cells (osteoblasts) to the mature bone cells (osteocytes). The remodeling of the bones is done by the cells known as osteoclasts.
