Chapter 6.3, Problem 1CS
Summary Introduction

To interpret: A model for NADH (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide-Hydrogen) cycle in a similar format with reference to ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) cycle of figure 6.4 given in the text book. Also incorporate red squiggly arrows for indicating exergonic and endergonic reactions.

Introduction: NADH is used by the mitochondria of the cell to synthesize ATP. NADH plays an important role in ATP cycle and possesses its own cycle. In NADH cycle, it is converted to NAD+ and again coverts into NADH.

Task 1. How many ATP is produced in entire oxidation of 1 acetoacetate molecule? Will you get more or less ATPs oxidizing β-hydroxybutyrate?
Preparation: Please review the notes from D2L as well as the presentations provided in the unit plan to complete this assessment.    Visual Representation: Please choose a few diagrams from the presentation, online or D2L that clearly illustrates the processes of cellular respiration. You would need an annotated diagram to explain the processes of cellular respiration which include the following: glycolysis, pyruvate oxidation, krebs cycle, electron transport chain, anaerobic fermentation. Your diagram can be presented in any way that you choose.    Recording: Using your diagram as a reference, please explain each of the processes in your own words using the key vocabulary learned in class. The major concepts have been highlighted in the presentation as well. You can use the screen recording feature, loom, canva and many more digital tools. In your recording, please make connections and relate concepts to real life examples.    Checklist:    Include steps in glycolysis, pyruvate…
Q16. Electron flow along an electron transport chain is a spontaneous process from molecules that are strong reducing agents to molecules that are stronger oxidizing agents. Given your knowledge of photosynthetic electron transport, which one of the following molecules is the strongest reducing agent (most easily oxidized)? A. P680 B. H2O C. P700* D. NADPH
