Summary Introduction
Introduction: Under normal conditions, pyruvate undergoes further oxidation for yielding energy, but when the conditions in muscles become anaerobic due to a lot of strenuous activity, oxidation of pyruvate does not occur. Instead, pyruvate is converted to lactate by lactate dehydrogenase enzyme.
