According to the Aufbau principle firstly the atomic orbitals of lower energy level is to be filled up before filling up the atomic orbitals of higher energy levels in the ground state of an atom.

To determine: If an electron in a 2s orbital is closer to the nucleus or an electron in a 3s orbital is closer to the nucleus.
