To explain: The risk of transmission of HIV to men versus women.
Concept introduction: Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a medical condition that involves a set of severe symptoms caused by the infection of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). HIV is a causative agent for the development of AIDS. Once entered, HIV virus remains in the body which cannot be completely eliminated by the immune system. Individuals develop AIDS after several years of HIV infection.
