Program Plan Intro
Two-dimensional array:
- • A two-dimensional array is also referred as 2D arrays which can store multiple collections of data.
- • It contains the rows and columns of elements.
- • In two-dimensional array, normally the first subscript is called as row size and the second subscript is called as column size.
- • All the rows will have equal number of columns. So, the arrangement of array elements looks like rectangular structure.
Declaration of two-dimensional array:
The two size declarators are needed to declare the two-dimensional array.
- • First indicates the number of rows.
- • Second indicates the number of columns.
The syntax to declare the two-dimensional array is given below:
datatype[,] arrName = new datatype[rows, columns];
Where,
- • “datatype” indicates the data type of variable.
- • “arrName” indicates the name of two-dimensional array variable.
- • “rows” indicates the number of rows.
- • “columns” indicates the number of columns.
