The ionization energy
Concept Introduction:
Ionization energy is the energy required to remove an electron from the valence shell of an atom in its gaseous state to form a gaseous ion. This is called first ionization energy.
If another electron is removed from this ion, the energy required for it is called second ionization energy.
For the removal of third electron, the energy required for the same is called third ionization energy.
