Introduction:
The autocrine signals bind to the receptors on the cell that secretes them. They then diffuse into the cell and affect the cells that produce them. The signaling process, wherein the cell signals itself, is called autocrine signaling. In this, the signaling molecules (chemical messengers or hormones) are secreted by the cell to bind to the receptors on its own surface. This results in the development of changes in the cell.
