Tangent to an Ellipse It can be shown that the line tangent to the ellipse x2/a2 + y2/b2= 1 at the point (x1, y1) has the equation
a. Find the equation of the line tangent to the ellipse x2/25 + y2/9 = 1 at (–4, 9/5).
b. Graph the ellipse and the tangent line on a graphing calculator and use the intersect feature to find the point of intersection.
