To explain:The output voltage from the transformer zero if the current in the primary coil is a direct current.

Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

A transformer is a device used to increase or decrease voltage of the current applied.

In a transformer, the changing magnetic field is used to produce current at the output. The magnetic field changes due to changing direction of the current. Only alternating currents change direction at regular intervals. Direct current flows in only one direction. If a direct current is supplied, no current will be produced at the output terminal and hence output voltage will be zero.

Conclusion:

The output voltage from the transformer will be zero if the current in the primary coil is a direct current because direct current flows in only one direction.
