Concept explainers
Why is it advantageous for a boxer to ride with the punch? Why should he avoid moving into an oncoming punch?
To explain: The reason due to which it will be better for a boxer to ride with the punch. Also, a reason for avoiding moving into a oncoming punch.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The force of punch is measured across all the rounds in boxing, where the punch forces are not related with boxer’s fight.
A boxer is riding with a punch. This means that the boxer tries to move away from the punch as it hits him. Thus, making the boxer to feel the impact of forcefor a longer time. This willdecrease the amount of force that the boxer feels. Thus, it is advantageous to ride with a punch.
The boxer should avoid moving into an oncoming punch. This is because if the boxer does not move away from the oncoming punch, then it would hit the boxer and he will feel the impact of the punch for a lesser time. This will increase the amount of force that the boxer feels.
