Introduction:
Ossicles are the three smallest bones of the body, which transmit sound waves from the eardrum to the inner ear. These include the hammer, anvil, and the stirrup. Otosclerosis is the fusion of these ossicles or an abnormal growth of bone near the middle ear. This interferes with the conduction of sound waves resulting in hearing loss.
