Question
Chapter 8, Problem 8.71SP
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
The differences between London dispersion forces and dipole-dipole forces should be determined.
Concept introduction:
- The intermolecular force which is weakest known as the London dispersion force. The London dispersion force is an interim appealing force that comes about after the electrons in dual adjacent atoms reside in positions that create the atoms form interim dipoles.
- Dipole-dipole forces are attractive forces amid the positive ending of single polar molecule as well as the negative ending of another polar molecule. Dipole-dipole forces strengths vary from 5 to 20 kJ per mole. Somewhat positive ending of a polar molecule is pulled in to the mostly negative ending of another.
