Concept explainers
To determine:
The type of cells hat divided by cell plate formation.
Introduction :
The cell is the basic unit of life and the series of event that takes place in a living cell during its life is known as the cell cycle. In the last M stage or the mitotic phase of the cell cycle, the cell is divided into two. The mitosis itself is divided into four sub-stages, these are prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
Explanation of Solution
After the completion of nuclear division through the process of mitosis, the division of cytoplasm between two daughter cells takes place. This division of cytoplasm is called cytokinesis. In the plants cells the division of cytoplasm takes place by the formation of cell plate. Hence, cell s most likely to be plant cell.
