S-Adenosyl methionine (SAM): It is non-protein metallic ion substrate which contains positively charged Sulphur atom bonded with two carbonyl groups and one methyl group that facilitates the biological activity. One of the major uses of SAM is that they are used in methyl group transfers.

Nucleophile: Donates pair of electrons to positively charged substrate resulting in the formation of chemical bond.

Leaving group: it is a fragment that leaves the chemical compound with pair of electrons in a heterolytic bond cleavage. The SN2 reactivity increases in molecule with better leaving group.
