Concept explainers
The water in Toronto Harbor in Canada freezes approximately 37 days later in the year than it did 100 years ago. This fact was determined in a study of the annual freezing and thawing of 26 bodies of water over the past 150 years. The outcome of the study indicates that global warming has resulted in water freezing 8.7 days later and thawing 9.8 days earlier each year. The comparison line graph gives the study results for selected bodies of water. Use this comparison line graph to answer questions 5–-8.
Fill in the blanks.
